WE CAN WORK WORK WITH ANYTHING YOU
GIVE US!
However... if you have access to the
original files you or another party created
we ask that any ARTWORK be saved in vector
formats!
EG. Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, EPS formats, ect. rather than any
bitmap saved formats!

FILE PREFERENCES:
We
ask that
all files be saved in the following formats (in order of preference).
- CorelDRAW
files (CDR or CMX, any version up to 12.0)
- PC Adobe
Illustrator (AI, any version up to 8.0)
- PC
Encapsulated PostScript vector graphics (EPS)
- The
following formats can be opened, but may have limitations: Adobe Acrobat
(PDF, great for viewing, sometimes can't be edited), Macromedia Freehand (FH),
Corel/Micrografx Designer (DSF/DRW), Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG, SVGZ),
WordPerfect (WPG, WP4, WP5, WPD), Macintosh PICT (PCT), Microsoft Word (DOC,
DOT, MCW), Windows Metafile (WMF, EMF), Computer Graphics Metafile (CGM),
Frame Vector Metafile (FMV)
- AutoCAD (DXF,
DWG, version 14 or lower--very difficult for us to work with, but it's a
place to start)
- We can
open most bitmap formats (BMP, TIF, GIF, JPG, JPEG, PhotoShop, Photo-Paint),
but their usability is limited.
NOTE: Bitmaps may be used for printed sign elements,
such as a full-color photo or pattern. Bitmaps are made up of a gridwork of
square dots. When these files are expanded, the squares get larger, creating
a jagged, "stair-stepped" image. Most logos that have been created in
PhotoShop (or other similar program) are not of a high enough resolution to
be used effectively on signage. For this reason, scanned and bitmapped
images that have not been converted to lines, curves or paths will very
often involve clean-up design fees.
File formats include: BMP, CAL, CPT, FPX, GIF, JPG, JPEG, JP2, MAC, PCD,
PCX, PNG, PPF, PP4, PP5, PSD, RIFF, SCT, TGA, TIF, TIFF, XCF, XPM, WI
- Black and
white proof or slick. We can scan these images, up to 8½" x 14." The larger
and cleaner the print is, the better, to save clean-up time and excessive
design charges.
- Faxed
artwork. Be advised that this method always involves lengthy clean-up, and
thus design charges, except with the simplest of logos/designs.
- If you
are unable to provide any of these formats, please call and ask for the
Graphics Department at (603)357-3111, for help.
